Marching Band

The Friendswood Marching Band is made up of 200 members from all 4 concert bands, the color guard, and percussion section.  There are typically 4 drum majors and about 20 other student leaders.  This ensemble, in conjunction with the Wind Ensemble, has been a consistent UIL sweepstakes award winner.  The Mighty Mustang Band has made 10 consecutive trips to the UIL State Marching Contest placing in the finals 7 times and earning the silver medal in 3 separate occasions.  In addition, the Marching Band has been named Grand Champion and received Best in Class at various marching competitions.   The students in the ensemble pride themselves in striving for the same musical achievement in the concert bands as they do outside on the move.
